4 years and 4 months and 8 months

Sometimes I feel like all I talk about on here is the babies. So here is too Keagan. He is such an amazing little man. I know that most parents feel like this about their children so I am going to toot his horn a little. He is so smart. He is ready to start preschool and I can't wait to watch him learn and grow. He picked out his backpack last week, who would have guessed that he would pick out the Pokemon one. How is it that he is old enough to go to school. He loves to play on the xbox, sometimes he just wants to sit with me or Craig and watch but he also likes to play some of the games by himself. He is the best big brother ever. He loves his baby brother and sister. Especially now that they can play with him or he can play with them. He has now decided that he wants to be like daddy and sleep in his undies only. He has been a great big help with keeping his toys picked up, mostly without having to ask him. I am so blessed with these three wonderful children.

More pictures of the kiddos

The babies...

I took the babies to the doctor last Friday and here are the stats on them and a few updates...

Carter:

  • Weighs in at 18 lbs 4 ounces

  • He is 27 inches long (I think)

  • He is sitting up really well now, this happens only when he stays still long enough to sit there.

  • He has no problem getting where he wants to go. He was doing a combination of things to move but this afternoon he was crawling. YEAH!!!!

  • He can sit himself up now.

  • Had to move his mattress in his crib down to the lowest level because he is going to be pulling himself up before to long.

  • He love love loves yogurt. He has hardly swallowed the bite before he is opening his mouth for more.

  • He has started getting his bear in his crib. About a week ago I noticed that almost every time I went in to get him he had moved the bear out of his corner.

  • He got to go to his 1st fair but slept through all of the animals.

Morgan:

  • Weighs in at 19lb 10 oz

  • She is 26 1/2 inches tall (I think)

  • She can sit by herself also, she is better at this than Carter because she doesn't move like him.

  • She hasn't even considered crawling, I am still not sure that she ever will. I still think that she will go straight to walking.

  • She gets upset when she gets stuck in a certain position. Since she isn't trying to crawl she still dislikes being on her tummy, and since she isn't moving she hasn't considered that she might be able to sit herself up.

  • She has gotten to be a nosey little thing. Especially when she is eating, must be the vantage point.

  • I still don't know if she has a fave thing to eat.

  • Both of the babies are getting good at using their sippy cups. They are also starting to dislike their bottles.

Slish Slash Vacation Bible School

Keagan went to vacation bible school at Stidham Church. He had a great time all week. For the most part he didn't sing or do the motions to the songs but occassionally he would forget that there was a bunch of people watching him and he would do a couple.

Slip-n-slide down the hill

I bought a cheap slip-n-slide a couple of weeks ago. We set it up and sent the kiddos down it, the babies had my help. Keagan had a blast. It was on a hill so he had fun sliding right down. The babies didn't like it at all.

Seven Months and counting

Updates on Carter and Morgan

Other interesting news... Morgan still doesn't move all that much, she will roll over but doesn't like to be on her tummy for very long. Carter started getting up on his hands and knees tonight. With us going on vacation and then their dr going on vacation it is going to be a couple more weeks till they go to the dr. I will post their stats when I get them.

Not to much longer and they won't be able to swing but for now don't they look oh so comfy.

They are growing up so fast.

Happy 7 month birthday, Carter and Morgan. Just cracks me up when people say, "They look identical." I am so sorry but no they don't!!!

Morgan got her first tooth exactly two weeks after Carter. Her second one was in within a couple days also.

You can't see them very well but Carter got his first tooth on June 6 with the second following a couple days later.

Isn't she beautiful? She is Daddy's little girl through and through. She has him wrapped around her little finger.

Both of these beautiful children that I carried for 37 weeks have decided that their first word needed to be Dada. This sucks...with two of them all I ever hear is dadadadadadada!!! My luck their next word is probably going to be some version of Keagan instead of mama. Carter is about the same as Morgan when it comes to food. He will eat anything and I can't say that I have found something that he won't eat. He wants to be eating what grownups eat. He just watches the food. This one will on occasion decide to spit his food at you so beware. I always knew that she would be a good eater and she is not proving me wrong. She loves everything. I would have a hard time telling you a favorite thing or something that she doesn't like. She will eat it if you put it in her mouth. We are starting to eat chunkier foods. She occasionally gags on new foods but she also gags on her fingers and that doesn't stop her from sucking on them.

Minnesota 2010

Our annual trip to Minnesota was a little bit different this year. Usually my sister-in-law and her family usually go with us, but this year they were not able too. So there was just 7 of us that packed up the boats and cars and hightailed it down the highway to the state with 10,000 lakes. This state is by far one of my favorite places to go, and my wonderful husband would move us there in a heartbeat if I would let him.

Now let me tell you, when you have two babies that you need to pack for your car becomes a little full. Or really full in our case. By the time we had everything loaded for the trip you couldn't see out of the back of the tahoe. We did move some of the stuff into my in laws suburban so Craig could at least see. The boat was also packed to the gills...this happens when you need to take two of everything. Two bouncy seats, an exersaucer and a jumperoo. We didn't take the baby swings and the babies missed them but they wouldn't fit in the car nor in the cabin.

So hear is a run down of the trip...

Friday June 4 @ 7:30 am we leave Jill and Steve's house. We make it about half way across Illinois before needing to stop for the babies. Thankfully Keagan rode with J and S so that he wouldn't have to listen to crying babies. We arrive after a couple more stops in Owatonna, MN at our hotel. We have the best dinner and take a stroll through a Cabela's store. Amazingly enough the babies go to bed in our hotel room fairly easy. The next morning we get up and get going, just as we are getting into the cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul) we have a tire on the boat blow, Craig says it was all of the extra baby stuff. So short pit stop on the side of the road of a major interstate to change the tire. We finally make it to the resort and get everything unpacked.

Sunday Morgan wakes up puking and with a really high fever. The puking stopped but the fever lasted a couple of days.
Tuesday Steve starts running a fever and felling bad. In the meantime Craig is the boat captain.

Jill and I took turns going fishing or watching the kids. The weather was ok, kind of cool and rainy but we had a good time fishing. Helps when you have good rain gear. Steve is still stuck inside with his fever. After 4 days I called my wonderful boss and he called Steve in a Zpack. After two more days and no improvement he went to the Rapidcare clinic, he had pneumonia. Needless to say he didn't have the greatest of vacations.

The fishing was so so. Craig did manage to catch an almost 9 lb northern pike and an almost 6 lb bass, and couple 5 lb walleyes but we struggled to find them. We did catch a lot of crappies and bluegills. Craig won the fishing contest the first week in all but one category, which Jill won.

We took all of the kids out one day for a couple of hours. Morgan just slept and if you can believe it Carter was fussy unless you held him. He hated his life vest. Next year is bound to be a little easier.

Keagan had a little girlfriend up there. The resort owners have a 3 year old granddaughter named Kiara. Keagan had a great time jumping on the trampoline and playing in the lake with her. Carter got his two lower front teeth while we were there.

Jill and I had a great time going to our quilt stores. Its amazing the selection of fabrics that we find up there. Found some good stuff now I just need to find time to work on it.
The last couple of days were really windy so we packed up early and headed out on Friday instead of waiting till Saturday. We stayed at the same hotel and got home Saturday afternoon. Its so good to be back but I am ready to go back.
